Barnim is a District in the state of Brandenburg.
Brandenburg is in the eastern part of Germany and it has a population with about 2,5 milion citinzes. It is with 29.500 km2 the largest of the five new States in Germany.
The Statecapital of Brandenburg is Potsdam
Barnim is in the north-eastern part of Brandenburg and has about 160.000 citinzes.
It is shaped with huge areas of unused Nature like in the Nature- and Biospherereservates Schorfheide - Chorin. It makes over a third of the aggregate areas of Barnim.
